In what I hope can be called progress for me, I am now reviewing movies for the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier. I'll only be in there twice a month, but it's something.

My first review for them can be found online here. They cut a paragraph, but fortunately it didn't ruin the review or anything. I'll post a full version later.

In other news, I am eagerly awaiting the caucus tonight, where I and a precious few Republican voters will help pick the man to be defeated by Hillary in November. I have decided to caucus for either Fred Thompson or Ron Paul. Hopefully one or both will do better than predicted.

Notably it was Obama, not HIllary who took home the Iowa Democratic Caucus (I called that one), with Edwards following. If either of them pulls off the win in New Hampshire then it's a tough road for Clinton in the coming weeks. Not impossible, but difficult.

Also, don't write of John McCain. Despite disagreeing with many of his policies, I favor him on the Republican side for his integrity. Also, he looks strong in New Hampshire which makes sense since his camp pretty much wrote Iowa off as a loss weeks ago.

If I were you james, I would pray that Huckster doesn't get the nomination. He's pretty much a sure bet to lose to just about anyone on the Democratic side.

On a personal note, the last time I spoke to my grandmother she said that this may be the first years she'll vote for a Democrat. I'm trying hard to sway her in favor of my man Barack, but I think she's more of an Edwards fan.

Frankly, I am taken aback. This was supposed to just be the anointing of Hillary as president, and now she has placed third, just like Deano did. She's still around, but she'll have to fight like hell to get back on top.

You know I hate the Clintons, but really, I can only bring myself to hate the other two marginally less. They're all soclialists, they're all far-left, they all have a grasp of foreign policy that barely rivals that of a 5-year-old. I'm not optimistic.

I don't want Huckabee to get the nom. He has virtually no chance at all of winning. I'd rather see Thompson or McCain be the winner, but I don't think either of them has much of a chance. I suppose 10% is better than 0%.

Hey, congratulations on the Courier job. It's very nice to see your name in a commercial publication -- a small one, but commercial none the less.
