I am expecting that a news article you read on the internet prompted this post, but I don't see a link.
Well we all hate corruption, amongst people who are supposed to be professionals, caused by living continuously in a high-stress environment that results from an over-populated metropolis. New York has lots of problems, from education to law enforcement. It's very unfortunate.
Basically what happened was these cops who fancied themselves gunfighters blew some poor guy away after his bachelor party. While he likely should have gone to a strip club earlier than the day before his wedding, I'm not sure he deserved the death penalty for it.
I'm not what you could call enthusiastic about these urban movements that swear victimization, but NYC basically lets police kill whoever they want whenever they want without penalty. Scary.
Yeah, 50 shots at some guy is totally crazy. Well, the media seems to have the right idea, making the situation seem to be unjust, well thats how I felt about the news report I saw.

My mistake! The link is now there.

While them shooting at unarmed people 50 times is pretty fucked up in an of itself, I think the real travesty was the trial.
Does it seem like a miscarriage of justice (or an "abortion of justice" as one NAACP spokesman called it) that they were able to waive a jury trial?
The judge let them off because of their claims that the "thought they might be in danger."
By that logic, you could shoot pretty much anyone who walks past you because they might have a gun and might pull it out and shoot you.
One nation, underdog, with liberty and justice for some.
